As the races for State Assembly came to a projected end, the consolation speeches have begun at Republican head quarters. Among those who have made consolation speeches were Scott Salimando of District three, Bruce Bennet of District four, Caesar Trunzo and John Bugler of District five. The speeches had a variety of tones but the overwelming mood was depressing.
In a brief moment of frustration Scott Salamando uttered the phrase "we will be waking up to a very different country tomorrow."
John Bugler's speech was the most heart felt as he thanked all who supported his
campaign. Bugler ended his speech by uttering supportive words for
Barack Obama. "Regardless of who is commander and chief tomorrow, give
him your support," Bugler said.

Re: Consolation speeches have begun at Republican Headquarters
Despite so many people still out of work and the economy in the state it's in, it seems there's still a lot of money to be thrown around. Recessions typically take a hard toll on the recreation industry, and this one may have been the straw that broke the back of Six Flags Parks. Six Flags Parks had been consistently losing money since the early 2000s, and recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. They had a roller coaster of a business history, figuratively speaking, and had experienced a shareholder revolt in 2005, and earlier this year, the company was de-listed by the New York Stock Exchange. They had warned stock holders that a bankruptcy filing might be inevitable, and blamed former management for taking on too much debt. It isn't as if Six Flags Parks were going to cure their financial ills with payday loans.
